先前有聽說NVIDIA意圖進軍正夯的輕省筆電市場，儘管N家不久前才放棄了和VIA合作開發的產品，但現在N家還是要向Atom系統發進了。根據DigiTimes的報導，NVIDIA將推出支援Intel Atom系統的晶片組，型號MCP79。初期的產品設計仍比較偏向桌機用的設計，相關細節目前未知。據說ASUS、Gigabyte與MSI都有意採用，而且"價錢很有彈性"。

Nvidia chipset support to come for Intel Atom nettops

Intel and Nvidia will join forces to enable Nvidia chipset support to the Atom platform in order to enhance graphics performance, according to sources at PC vendors.

Nvidia's MCP79 chipset will be the first to support Atom CPUs, however the support will only apply to nettops during the initial period.

Asustek Computer, Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) have said they welcome the partnership between Nvidia and Intel and believe the cooperation would give them more pricing flexibility.
